Becoming a Member of UNSOC

UNSOC encourages people who are interested in MUN to join our society! We welcome anyone who is a student at the University of Toronto. There is no application process and no experience is necessary.

How to Join:

Step 1: Show up! That's right, it's that simple. Every Friday we host a training session on campus from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. Training sessions are at the core of UNSOC, and they provide the opportunity (apart from training for MUN) for members to meet each other, have discussions and hang out! We also host many socials and other events outside of the Friday time slot. Our training session locations vary per week, so it's important you keep an eye out for our Newsletters, our Facebook and the Event Calendar page on our website.

Step 2: Pay your $20 membership fee! As an independent student society, UNSOC relies on its membership fees for basic operating and administrative costs, conference registration, and as well as providing general subsidies for social events. The fee is mandatory if you plan on attending MUN conferences, and gives you the right to vote and run in our elections.

Step 3: Receive your membership card! Every paid member will receive a card that validates them as a member. As a member, apart from basic conference and election privileges, you will also have the opportunity to have your registration fees for one conference subsidized if you become a staff member with our sister organization UTMUN. Please retain the card as proof of membership for UNSOC-special events.

Step 4: Welcome! You are now a member of UNSOC! During our training sessions, you will be updated on conference registration as well as other socials/events/opportunities.

You are welcome to join UNSOC anytime of the year. If you cannot attend our training sessions, our executive is more than happy to accommodate you if you would like to be involved in training. If you have any questions regarding our membership process, please do not hesitate to contact us through the Contact Us page on our website.
